Tech Tips - The End Of Windows 98
Last month (July 2006) brought a close to Microsoft’s support for the Windows 98 and Windows Me operating systems. The software company has retired public and technical support, including security updates. According to Microsoft, they have retired support for these products because they are outdated and can expose customers to security risks. They recommend that customers who are still running Windows 98 or Windows Me upgrade to a newer, more secure Microsoft operating system, such as Windows XP, as soon as possible. continue

Torotel Products (www.torotelprod.com) specializes in the custom design and manufacture of a wide variety of precision magnetic components, consisting of transformers, inductors, reactors, chokes, filters, common mode, current sense and toroidal coils. Torotel Products has been a key supplier to many Fortune 100 defense and aerospace companies since 1956. Torotel became a VersentCheck customer in May of 2006. Last month, Torotel called in to say that their server was down and they couldn’t get on their network. With a network down at a VersentCheck customer, the purple guys sprang into action. continue
